Eugene Cipparone is the firm’s Associate General Counsel.
He specializes in knowledge management (i.e. precedents and databases of reusable legal work product for the firm’s corporate, commercial, securities, insolvency, intellectual property, litigation, tax and property development practice areas), risk management (i.e. file intake, retainer letters, conflicts of interest, ethical walls, records management, technology issues (including security), outside counsel guidelines and LSO requirements, and legal technology and innovation (i.e. piloting and rolling out new legal technologies relating to transaction and litigation support).
Prior to joining Goodmans in 2005, Eugene practiced corporate, commercial and regulatory law (specializing in cross-border mergers and acquisitions) at another Canadian law firm in Toronto (1994-1997; 2002) and New York (1998 – 2001).
Eugene has spoken at numerous knowledge management, risk management and legal technology and innovation conferences. He is a member of the Knowledge Management Advisory Board for Practical Law Canada and he likes to consult with and advise numerous legal technology start-ups as they develop their products for the “big law” Canadian legal market.
