Back to Work in the Wake of COVID-19
A Step-by-Step Employers Plan for Reopening OntarioCanada’s provincial and federal governments are gradually moving forward with plans to reopen the Canadian economy. Although it may be some time before businesses are permitted to resume normal operations, it is not too early for employers to begin planning for the reopening of their physical workspaces. Implementing comprehensive, carefully-considered back-to-work plans will be critical for employers to meet their duties to protect the health and safety of workers, as well as others in the workplace.
This template Back-to-Work Plan sets out basic step-by-step considerations for employers as they look to reopen their physical places of business and welcome workers back to work. In implementing any back-to-work plans, employers will need to customize their plans to reflect the demands and risks specific to their business and industry, as well as the physical environment of their particular workplace. As the situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic is always evolving, employers also need to ensure that their reopening plans reflect ongoing guidance and requirements issued by governments and public health authorities.
