Macquarie Infrastructure Partners in connection with the sale of various container terminals

Goodmans LLP represented funds managed by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (“MIRA”) in connection with the sale of two container terminals to PSA International Pte Ltd., a Singapore-based global port operator and the sale of one marine terminal to DP World Canada Investments Inc., one of the world’s largest port operators based in Dubai.

PSA International, a subsidiary of Temasek Holdings, acquired Eastern Canada’s largest container terminal, the Halterm Terminal at the Port of Halifax, and Penn Terminals in Philadelphia, U.S.

DP World Canada Investments Inc., a subsidiary of DP World and which is 45% owned by Caisse de dépot et placement du Québec,, acquired Canadian marine terminal, Fraser Surrey Docks in Vancouver. Fraser Surrey Docks is the largest modern, multi-purpose terminal on the west coast of North America.

The sale of Fraser Surrey Docks occurred at a difficult time for global shippers and major international shipping trade routes as fears over COVID-19 were spreading.
