Power and Energy Finance

As part of the Goodmans Energy Group, our power and energy finance practice has continued to grow in recent years as the need for energy (particularly renewable energy) in Ontario and elsewhere expands. We work closely with our energy lawyers and draw on their strong expertise in the commercial and project agreements associated with clean and renewable energy projects in order to create suitable financing arrangements.

From construction loans to longer-term loans to sales tax bridge loans, we can work with clients on a variety of different financing structures to suit their goals and needs. And we have experience across all energy sectors, including wind, solar, hydro, and more traditional co-generation. We regularly act for such clients as SkyPower Limited, Brookfield Renewable Energy Partners, Fiera Private Debt (Infrastructure Group), Interwind, Airtricity, the CIM Group, Canadian Renewable Energy, Atlantic Power Corporation and Countryside Power Income Fund.
