Carl Scott is a patent agent at Goodmans. In addition to his involvement in patent prosecution and conducting diligence searches, Carl also provides technical support for science-related issues, particularly for intellectual property issues and patent litigation in the pharmaceutical field.
Carl graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1997 with a B.Sc. in Chemistry and received a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia in 2003, following which he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Cincinnati. Carl’s research interests during this time involved organic synthesis, asymmetric synthesis, photochemistry, solid state chemistry, interfacial polymerizations to form liquid-core capsules, and the development of biocompatible polymer scaffolds for use in cell and protein patterning.
Carl has been registered as a Patent Agent in Canada since 2010.
Carl joined Goodmans in 2010, and has been involved in the intellectual property field since 2005.
